FIRM PROFILE: The Firm's founders included Edward A. Hedman (1927- 2004), Thomas M. Gibson  and James V. Costigan, graduates, respectively, of Fordham, New York University and St. John's Law Schools, who in 1981 collectively brought together more than 50 years of intellectual property law experience. The Firm's other principals collectively have more than 45 years of intellectual property experience.The Firm continues to emphasize the full spectrum of intellectual property law. The Firm currently serves the needs of individual and corporate clients and has developed a reputation for highly professional, responsive and cost effective services in its area of specialization.

JAMES V. COSTIGAN, born Jamaica, New York, October 11, 1939; admitted to bar, 1967, New York. Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, 1970. Education: St. John's University (B.S., 1961; LL.B., 1965). Arbitrator, American Arbitration Association. Member: New York State Bar Association; Association of the Bar of the City of New York; New York Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association; American Intellectual Property Law Association. Concentration: Intellectual Property. Mr. Costigan has been employed as a Patent Examiner in the U.S. Patent Office where he examined chemical and pharmaceutical applications.

KENNETH F. FLOREK, born East Orange, New Jersey, June 12, 1960; admitted to bar, 1986, California; 1987, New York. Registered  to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, 1988. Education: Rutgers University (B.S., Chemistry, 1982); University of San Diego (J.D., 1985). Mediator and Neutral Evaluator, United Sates District Court (S.D.N.Y. and E.D.N.Y.).
